TheStreet, Inc., (www.thestreet.com), an award-winning financial media company is seeking a Flash Writer to provide real-time coverage to a sophisticated audience of breaking news and current events that affect the financial markets. The Flash Writer will be responsible for constantly monitoring financial news sites and social media to cull out breaking financial news items and getting them out to our experienced readers in quick takes. The Flash Writer will work closely with the newsroom personnel and will report to the Flash Team Lead. The result will be continuously updated, tightly focused, concise breaking news content that will be pushed to the company’s audience throughout every trading day.
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of financial news experience
• Excellent writing, grammar and analytic skills
• Ability to very quickly churn out error-free content
• Knowledge of financial markets
• Be a quick reader and writer, with the ability to churn out quick takes in a few sentences
• Supportive attitude and the ability to function well in a team environment
