TheStreet is a leading digital financial media company whose network of digital services provides users, subscribers and advertisers with a variety of content and tools through a range of online, social media, tablet and mobile channels. As a financial media firm publishing content primarily on the web, TheStreet places a high priority on our authoring platform and front-end systems. We are looking for front-end engineers to help with these systems as well as our new consumer-facing sites. These employees will be responsible for important, highly visible projects at TheStreet with plenty of interesting technical challenges.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing data-driven user interfaces for both the web and mobile devices. We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about building applications with an outstanding user experience, enjoys working in a dynamic team of talented developers, and who is eager to take on big challenges.

Responsibilities Include:
•Designing and implementing custom applications
•Collaborating with stakeholders to understand and shape requirements
•Working with Quality Assurance to ensure deliverables are functionally complete, performant and error free
Required Skills & Experience:
•Minimum of 5 years of UI/UX development experience
•Strong understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS is required
•Competency with modern front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Bootstrap)
•Experience with modern CSS tools (SASS, LESS)
•Experience with responsive and reactive front end designs, especially techniques for complex breakpoint behaviors and infinite scroll
•Experience with technology used to manage high-volume web sites (SEO, Analytics, Performance Optimization, Ad Networks)
•Expert at debugging code using debuggers and other tools
•Experience with tools needed for working in team environment (Git, Jira, Confluence)
•Software design skills, including object oriented design
•Experience with MVC web/UI frameworks such as Spring or Grails
•Understanding of Linux operating systems and hand-on experience developing on these operating systems
•Excellent command of written and spoken English
•BS or equivalent degree or experience
